Correct Answer - Option 4 : None of these

The correct answer is None of these.

  • Hydrogen is an odorless, tasteless, flammable gaseous substance that is the simplest member of the family of chemical elements.
  • As we know that hydrogen is the first member of the periodic table, so an atom has a nucleus consisting of a proton bearing one unit of positive electrical charge; an electron, bearing one unit of negative electrical charge, is also associated with this nucleus.
  • The interesting fact about hydrogen:
    • It is the most abundant element in the universe (three times as abundant as helium, the next most widely occurring element).
    • It makes up only about 0.14 percent of Earth’s crust by weight.
    • Hydrogen is transparent to visible light, to infrared light, and to ultraviolet light to wavelengths below 1800 Å. So, from this, we can say that hydrogen doesn’t have any color. So, we can say that option D is the correct answer to this question.
  • Colors of different gases:
    • Helium: Pink-orange
    • Neon: Red
    • Argon: Violet
    • Krypton: Lavender
    • Xenon: Blue
    • Mercury Vapor: Blue-violet
    • Oxygen: Blue-violet
    • Water Vapor: Pink
