Correct Answer - Option 2 : 3/5

Concept:

If S is a sample space and E is a favourable event then the probability of E is given by:

\(\rm P(E)=\frac{n(E)}{n(S)}\)

Complement of an event:

The complement of an event is the subset of outcomes in the sample space that are not in the event.

The probability of the complement of an event is one minus the probability of the event.

P (A̅) = 1 - P (A) ⇒ P (A) = 1 - P (A̅)

Calculation:

Total balls in bag = 4 + 6 = 10 balls

A black ball can be drawn in 4 ways out of 10 possible outcomes.

probability of getting a white ball = P(W) = \( \frac{4}{{10}}\)

\(\frac 2 5\)

The probability of not getting a white ball is P(B)' =  1 - P(B)

= 1 - 2/5

= 3/5
