Correct Answer - Option 4 : 1040

Given:

A number is increased by 37.5%

Calculation:

37.5% = 37.5/100 = 3/8

We take original number = 8x,

Thus, if increased by 37.5%, number becomes 8x + 3x = 11x

Also, given new number = 1430

⇒ 11x = 1430

⇒ x = 130

∴ Original number = 8x = 8 × 130 = 1040
