Correct Answer - Option 1 : 72
Given:
A batsman scored 100 runs in his 15th innings. Due to this, his average increased by 2 runs
Formula Used:
Old average × Old number of terms + New term = New average × New number of terms
Calculation:
Let his current average is = x
⇒ His old average must be x – 2 till 14th innings [∵ average has now increased by 2]
According to question
(x – 2) × 14 + 100 = x × 15
⇒ 14x – 28 + 100 = 15x
⇒ x = 72
∴ Current average of batsman is 72 runs
