Correct Answer - Option 2 : 25

Given:

Average of 5 numbers in a group is 23

Average of the first two numbers is 24

Average of the last two numbers is 21.

Concept used:

Average × number + average × number + ….. = average of all × total number

Calculation:

Let the value of the middle number be ‘x’

24 × 2 + x + 21 × 2= 23 × 5

⇒ 90 + x = 115

⇒ x = 25

∴ Middle number = 25
