Correct Answer - Option 1 : 500

Given:

A number is decreased by 62%

Calculation:

We take original number = 100x, thus if decreased by 62%, number becomes 100x - 62x = 38x

Also, given new number = 190

⇒ 38x = 190

⇒ x = 5

∴ Original number = 100x = 100 × 5 = 500
