Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 5 : x = y or relationship between x and y cannot be established

Calculation:

I. 15x2 – 29x – 14 = 0

⇒ 15x2 – 35x + 6x – 14 = 0

⇒ 5x(3x – 7) + 2(3x – 7) = 0

⇒ (5x + 2) (3x – 7) = 0

⇒ x = -2/5 or 7/3

II. 6y2 – 5y – 25 = 0

⇒ 6y2 – 15y + 10y – 25 = 0

⇒ 3y(2y – 5) + 5(2y – 5) = 0

⇒ (3y + 5) (2y – 5) = 0

⇒ y = -5/3 or 5/2

Value of x

Value of y

Relation

-2/5

5/2

x < y

-2/5

-5/3

x > y

7/3

5/2

x > y

7/3

-5/3

x > y

∴ Relationship between x and y cannot be established
