Correct Answer - Option 4 : 8 : 15

Given:

The ratio of total salary given to male and female is 4 : 5

The wages ratio of each male and female 3 : 2

Concept:

Number of male or female = Total salary of male or female/salary of one male or female

Calculation:

Let the unit ratio of total salary be y

The total salary of male = 4y

The total salary of female = 5y

Let the unit ratio of one person salary be x

⇒ Salary of one male = 3x

⇒ Salary of one female = 2x

Number of male = Total salary of male/ Salary of one male

⇒ 4y/3x

Number of female = Total salary of female/Salary of one female

⇒ 5y/2x

Number of male/Number of female = (4y/3x)/(5y/2x)

⇒ (4y/3x) × (2x/5y)

⇒ 8 : 15

The ratio of the total number of male and female 8 : 15
