Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 55,000

Given

Average wages in 2005 = Rs. 5,000

Average wages in 2006 = Rs. 6,000

Formula used

Average = Sum of all observations/ Number of observations

Calculation

Total wages in 2005 = 5000 × 10

⇒ 50,000

Total wages in 2006 = 6000 × 10

⇒ 60,000

Average = (50,000 + 60,000)/2

⇒ 1,10,000/2

⇒ Rs. 55,000

∴ Average wages in each year is Rs. 55,000
