  • It is the most popular smokeless tobacco in India.
  • It contains sun-dried or fermented coarsely cut tobacco leaves mixed with slaked lime.
  • It is placed in the mouth between the gums and cheeks and sucked slowly for 10–15 minutes.
  • It is more common in men except in Mizoram where it is more common in women.
