Correct Answer - Option 4 : 25 years

Given

P is 5 years older than Q who is twice as old as R and the total of ages of P, Q and R be 55 years

Calculations :

Let the age of P, Q and R be p, q and r.

Age of P = 5 + q

Age of Q = q

Age of R = q/2

According to the question

5 + q + q + (q/2) = 55

⇒ q = 50/2.5

⇒ q = 20

Age of P = 5 + q

⇒ 5 + 20 = 25

∴ The correct choice will be option 4.
