Correct Answer - Option 1 : 3 : 5

Given :

Basmati rice costing Rs. 40 per kg be mixed with India gate rice costing Rs. 48 per kg

Profit is 20%

Selling price is Rs. 54

Formula:

Selling price = (100 + profit) × cost price/100

Solution:

Let the cost price of whole mixture be Rs. x.

⇒ x = 54 × (100/120)

⇒ x =  Rs. 45

⇒ Required ratio = (48 – 45)/(45 – 40)

⇒ Ratio = 3 : 5

Required ratio is 3 : 5.
