The correct answer is a-3, b-4, c-1, d-2.

  • Applications present in the following substances:
List-I
[Applications]
List-II
[Substances]
(a) Aspartame Artificial Sweetener
(b) Freon Refrigerant
(c) Neoprene Synthetic rubber
(d) Benadryl Anti-histamine

  • Aspartame:
    • Aspartame, the synthetic organic compound (a dipeptide) of phenylalanine and aspartic acid.
    • It is 150–200 times as sweet as cane sugar and is used as a nonnutritive tabletop sweetener and in low-calorie prepared foods (brand names NutraSweet, Equal) but is not suitable for baking.
    • Because of its phenylalanine content, persons with phenylketonuria must avoid it.
    • Though it is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory authorities around the world, its safety even for those without the disease remains controversial.
  • Freon:
    • Freon, (trademark), any of several simple fluorinated aliphatic organic compounds that are used in commerce and industry.
    • In addition to fluorine and carbon, Freons often contain hydrogen, chlorine, or bromine.
    • Thus, Freons are types of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), and related compounds.
    • The name Freon is a trademark registered by E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company.
  • Neoprene:
    • Neoprene (CR), also called polychloroprene or chloroprene rubber, synthetic rubber produced by the polymerization (or linking together of single molecules into giant, multiple-unit molecules) of chloroprene.
    • A good general-purpose rubber, neoprene is valued for its high tensile strength, resilience, oil and flame resistance, and resistance to degradation by oxygen and ozone.
    • However, its high cost limits its use to special-properties applications.
  • Benadryl:
    • Benadryl Syrup is used in the treatment of cough.
    • It relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness.
    • It also thins mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs, making it easier to cough out.
    • Benadryl Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor.
    • The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine.
