Correct Answer - Option 2 : 19

Concept:

Transistor:

A semiconductor device made of semiconductor material with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit.

  • It is made by sandwiching one type of semiconductors between two and used for amplification and switching purposes in electronic devices.
  • Alpha gain (α): In the common-base configuration, the current gain that is defined as the ratio of change in collector current to change in emitter current is known as alpha gain.

\(\alpha=\frac{I_c}{I_e}\) -- (1)

  • Beta gain (β): It is the current gain in the common Emitter configuration. the current gain that is defined as the change in collector current to base current is known as beta gain.

\(β=\frac{I_c}{I_b}\) -- (2)

  • The relation between alpha gain and beta gain is given by:

\(α = \frac{β}{1+β}\) -- (3)

Calculation:

Given  α = 0.95

\(\implies 0.95 = \frac{β}{1+β}\)

⇒ 0.95 + 0.95 β = β

⇒ 0.95 = 0.05 β

\(\implies \beta = \frac{0.95}{0.05} = 19\)

So, the correct option is 19.
