Given 

Average age of husband and wife 5 years ago = 23 years 

Formula Used 

Average = Sum of data/No. of data

Calculation 

Let the age of Husband, Wife and Child be H, W and C 

According to Question 

H - 5 + W - 5 = 23 × 2 = 46 

⇒ H + W = 56 

Sum of Husband, Wife and Child age at present  = 19 × 3 = 57 

⇒ H + W + C = 57 

⇒ C = 1 years 

∴ The age of child is 1 years
