Sunil distributes 15%, 10%, and 20% of his monthly income to his son, daughter, and wife who spends 60%, 60%, and 30% of that amount respectively. If the difference between the total amount left with the children along with wife and Sunil is Rs. 961. What is the monthly income of Sunil?

Correct Answer - Option 1 : Rs. 3100

Given 

Sunil distributes his salary to son = 15% 

Sunil gives to daughter = 20% of his salary 

Formula Used 

Percentage = (actual value/Total value) × 100

Calculation 

Let the Sunil's salary be 100x 

Son's share = 15% of 100x = 15x 

Daughter's share = 10% of 100x = 10x 

Wife share's = 20% of 100x = 20x

sunil's left money after distributes = 100x - (15x + 10x + 20x) = 55x 

Saving by son from his amount = 15x - 60% of 15x = 6x 

Saving by daughter from his amount = 10x - 60% of 10x = 4x 

Saving by wife from his amount = 20x - 30% of 20x = 14x 

Difference between amount left with sunil and three of them = Rs. 961 

⇒ 55x - (6x + 4x + 14x ) = 961 

⇒ x = 31 

⇒ 100x = 3100

∴ The monthly income of sunil is Rs. 3100
