Concept:

Current is a flow of electrical charge carriers, usually electrons or electron-deficient atoms.

Mathematically Current is defined as rate of change of charge

Current(I) = \(\frac{dq}{dt}=\frac{Δ q }{Δ t}\)

Where

dq = Δq = change in flow of charge

dt = Δt = change in time

Application:

Given:

Δq = 12 C, Δt = 5-0 = 5 sec

I = \(\frac{dq}{dt}=\frac{Δ q }{Δ t}\)

I = \(\frac{{12}}{{5}}\)

= 2.4 A

1. Voltage V = \(\frac{{dW}}{{dq}}\)

2. Power P = V × I

= \(\frac{{dW}}{{dq}}\times \frac{dq}{dt}\)

\(\frac{{dW}}{{dt}}\)

The direction of current will be in the direction of positive charges flowing in a conductor always.
