Correct Answer - Option 4 : 8 runs

Given:

Average of first 3 ball is 4 runs.

Average of a over(6 balls) is 6 runs.

Formula Used:

Average = Sum of all observations/Total number of observations

Calculation:

Average of first 3 ball is 4 runs.

⇒ 4 = Runs in first 3 balls/3

⇒ Runs = 4 × 3

⇒ Runs = 12

Average of a over(6 balls) is 6 runs.

⇒ 6 = Runs in an over/6

⇒ Runs is an over = 6 × 6

⇒ Runs is an over = 36

Runs scored in last 3 balls,

⇒ 36 – 12

⇒ 24

Average of last 3 balls = Runs scored in last 3 balls/ 3

⇒ Average of last 3 balls = 24/3

⇒ Average of last 3 balls = 8 runs

∴ The average of last 3 balls is 8 runs.
