Correct Answer - Option 3 : Striated muscles

The correct answer is Striated Muscles.

  • Striated Muscles
    • It is a muscle tissue that features repeating functional units called sarcomeres.
    • The striated appearance of skeletal muscle tissue is a result of repeating bands of the proteins actin and myosin that are present along the length of myofibrils.
    • Striated Muscle is comprised of two types of tissues: skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle.
    • The primary function of striated muscles is to generate force and contract in order to support respiration, locomotion, and posture and to pump blood throughout the body.

  • Smooth Muscles
    • It is a type of muscle tissue that is used by various systems to apply pressure to vessels and organs.
    • It is composed of sheets or strands of smooth muscle cells.
    • These cells have fibers of actin and myosin which run through the cell and are supported by a framework of other proteins.
  •  Cartilages
    • These are the connective tissues that have a slightly pliable matrix due to chondroitin salts.
    • Matrix is composed of glycoprotein, which is a semi-solid, transparent, and elastic substance that forms cartilage.
  • Bones
    • These are the living tissue in our body having its own blood vessels.
    • These are mainly composed of proteins, minerals, and vitamins.
    • Bone has a very hard matrix due to the presence of calcium salts.
    • The adult human skeleton consists of 206 bones.
