Calculation:

Let matches played before the tournament be x

So, Total runs scored = 38x

New average = (38x + 548)/(x + 7)

(38x + 548)/(x + 7) = 41.76

⇒ 38x + 548 = 41.76x + 292.32

⇒ 3.76x = 255.68
