Correct Answer - Option 1 : Nilofar

The Correct Answer is Nilofar.

  • Cyclone Nilofar did not affect the east coast of India.
  • Storm Cyclone Nilofar was the third-strongest cyclone in the Arabian Sea at the time.
  • It attained peak maximum sustained winds of between 205 km/h (125 mph) and 215 km/h (125 mph) in late October 2014.
  • It was given the name Nilofar by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which was suggested by Pakistan and refers to the water lily.
  • Nilofar arose from a low-pressure zone that existed between India and the Arabian Peninsula. On October 25, it became depression and pushed northward into a region of favourable conditions.
  • The storm quickly weakened due to high wind shear, and Nilofar degraded into a remnant low-pressure area on October 31 off the coast of Gujarat, India.

  • Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Hudhud was a powerful tropical cyclone that wreaked havoc in eastern India and Nepal in October 2014.
  • Cyclonic Storm Lehar was a tropical cyclone that mainly impacted the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Helen was a weak tropical cyclone that formed on the 18th of November 2013 in the Bay of Bengal region from the remnants of Tropical Storm Podul.
