Correct Answer - Option 2 : 5/6

Given:

6x2 – 5x + 1 = 0

Concept:

The quadratic equation of the type ax2 + bx + c = 0

Sum of roots = –b/a or  – (coefficient of x) / (coefficient of x2)

Calculation:

Coefficient of x (i.e. b) = –5

Coefficient of x2 (i.e. a) = 6

Sum of the roots = –(–5/6) = 5/6

∴ Sum of roots is 5/6
