Correct Answer - Option 1 : 86

Given:

Average of 27 results = 72

Average of first 14 = 69

Average of last 14 = 76

Formula used:

Average = sum of observations/total number of observations

Calculation:

Sum of 27 results = 27 × 72 = 1944

Sum of first 14 results = 14 × 69 = 966

Sum of last 14 results = 14 × 76 = 1064

∴ 14th result = 966 + 1064 - 1944 = 86

∴ The answer is 86
