Let y = x / 6 and 4x + 12y = 48. What is the value of x and y?
1. x = 3 and \(y = \frac{2}{3}\)
2. x = 3 and \(y = \frac{4}{3}\)
3. x = 9 and y = 3
4. x = 8 and \(y = 1\frac{1}{3}\)

Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 4 : x = 8 and \(y = 1\frac{1}{3}\)

Given:

y = x / 6, and 4x + 12y = 48

Calculation:

Putting the value of y in second equation we get

⇒ 4x + 2x = 48         [6y = x]

⇒ 6x = 48

⇒ x = 8, so y = 4 / 3 = \(1\frac{1}{3}\)

∴ Required value of x = 8, value of \(y = 1\frac{1}{3}\)
