Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs 16000

Given:

Salary saves = 30%

Expenses increase by = 20%

Saving after increase in expenses = Rs.2560

Calculation:

Let original salary be Rs.a.

Original expenses = 70% × a

New expenses = 70/100 × a × 120/100 = Rs.0.84a

⇒ a - 0.84a = 2560

⇒ a = 16000

∴ Monthly salary of Sohan is Rs.16000.
