Given:

To complete a work in the first case:

Number of workers worked = 12 

Number of hours per day = 6 hours

Number of days taken = 16 days 

To complete a work in the second case:

Number of workers worked = 8

Number of hours per day = 8 hours

Concept used:

M1D1H1 = M2D2H2

M → Number of men, D → Day and H → Hours

Calculations:

12 × 6 × 16  = 8 × D2 × 8        (∵ Here work done w1 = w2)

⇒ D2 = 18 days 

∴ The required number of  workers to complete work is 18
