What happens when you select a column and press CTRL SHIFT and Plus (+) at the same time in MS Excel ?


1. The task manager window opens
2. All the numeric values of the selected column are added

  • When you select a column and press CTRL SHIFT and Plus (+) at the same time in MS Excel it adds a new column before the selected column.
  • It is generally used when data is to be inserted in the middle of the table
  • This can also be done by right click on the cell and select the option to add a column before and after the cell.

  • Some important shortcuts used in MS Excel:
    • Ctrl + N Create a new workbook.
    • Ctrl + O Open an existing workbook.
    • Ctrl + S Save the active workbook.
    • F12 Save the active workbook under a new name, displays the Save as dialog box.
    • Ctrl + W Close the active workbook.
    • Ctrl + C Copy the contents of the selected cells to Clipboard.
    • Ctrl + X Cut the contents of the selected cells to Clipboard.
    • Ctrl + V Insert the contents of the Clipboard into the selected cell(s).
