  • While writing equations in MS-Word, the subscript feature is used to type very small letters/numbers below the line of text. 
  • A subscript is a character or string that is smaller than the preceding text and sits at or below the baseline.
  • For subscript and superscript follow these steps:
    • Select the text or number that you want to subscript or superscript
    • For superscript, press Ctrl, Shift, and the Plus sign (+) at the same time.
    • For subscript, press Ctrl and the Equal sign (=) at the same time. (Do not press Shift).

Important Shortcut keys used in MS Word:

  • Cut the selected content to the Clipboard - Ctrl+X
  • Copy the selected content to the Clipboard - Ctrl+C
  • Paste the contents of the Clipboard - Ctrl+V
  • Increase the font size by 1 point.- Ctrl+]
  • Center the text - Ctrl+E.
  • Align the text to the left - Ctrl+L.
