Correct Answer - Option 2 : 34% decrease

Given:

the length of a box is increased = 50%

the breadth of a box is  increased  = 10%

the height of a box is is decreased = 60%

Formula used :

Volume of cuboid box = l × b × h

Calculation :

let,

length of box = 2 units

breath of box = 10 units

height of box = 5 units

Initial  volume = 2 × 10  × 5 = 100 cube units

New length after 50% increase = 3 units

New breath after 10% increase = 11 units

New height after 60% decrease = 2 units

New volume = 3 × 11 × 2 = 66 cube units

% change in volume = [(Initial  volume  - New volume)/Initial  volume]  × 100

⇒ [(100 - 66)/100] × 100

⇒ 34%

∴ Volume decreased by 34%.
