  • Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Samithi and Zila Parishads Act of 1959
  • This act is first published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette.
  • This act extends to the whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh
  • Every Panchayat Samithi shall by the name of the Block for which is constituted or reconstituted.
  • Every Panchayat Samithi shall consist of the following members:
  1. in the Andhra area, the president of every panchayat and in the Telangana area, the sarpanch of every panchayat, and the president of every town committee in the ex-officio.
  2. the member of the Legislative Council of the State specified in clause IV of sub-section 3 of section 56 as member of Zilla Parishad of the district, provided that such member of the legislative council shall be a member of only one Panchayat Samithi in such district.
