Correct Answer - Option 2 : Mutnuri Krishna Rao

The correct answer is Mutnuri Krishna Rao.

  • Krishna Patrika is a Telugu-language newspaper founded by Indian freedom fighter Konda Venkatappayya.
  • In the Andhra region, among the Telugu journals, the Krishna Patrika played a prominent role in the freedom struggle. Krishna Patrika and Andhra Patrika were two newspapers in Telugu, which were started in the early years of the 20th century and survived till the country became independent.
  • A unique feature of the Krishna Patrika was that it was started by a District Association. Its first issue came out on 2 February 1902.
  • Mutnuri Krishna Rao was largely responsible for the success of the Krishna Patrika, who for a long time was its editor. He was one of the founders of the paper and from 1902 was associated with it as its Sub-Editor. In 1907 he became its editor and continued to serve the journals in that capacity until his death in 1945. Hence option 2 is the correct answer.

  • Kasinadhuni Nageswararao, better known as Nageswara Rao Pantulu, (1 May 1867 – 11 April 1938) was an Indian journalist, nationalist, politician, and staunch supporter of the Khaddar movement.
  • He participated in the Indian independence movement and in the Indian National Congress party, including Mahatma Gandhi’s civil disobedience movement through salt satyagraha.
  • He was conferred with the title Desabandhu (Friend of the masses) by the people of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Tummala Seetharama Murthy or Tummla Seetharama Murthy Choudary was an Indian poet writing in Telugu. Murthy was born in Kavuru village in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Works such as Rashtragaanamu reflect patriotism and the Indian independence struggle.
  • Narla Venkateshwara Rao or V. R. Narla was a Telugu language writer, journalist, and politician from Andhra Pradesh in India. He was a Rajya Sabha member twice from 3 April 1958 to 2 April 1970 and wrote a satakam in Telugu.
