Correct Answer - Option 4 : -2√3

Given

b = (√3 + 2)-1/2

Calcualtion

b- 2 = (√3 + 2)(-1/2) × (-2)

⇒ b- 2 = (√3 + 2)

⇒ 1/b2 = (√3 + 2)

⇒ b2 = [1/(√3 + 2)] × [(2 - √3)/(2 - √3)]

⇒ b= (2 - √3)/4 - 3

⇒ b= (2 - √3)

So, b- (1/b2) = (2 - √3) - (√3 + 2)

⇒ -2√3

∴ Value of b- (1/b2) is -2√3.
