Correct Answer - Option 1 : 1911

The correct answer is 1911.

  • India's national anthem is Jana Gana Mana. Rabindranath Tagore, a Bengali polymath, originally wrote it as Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata.
  • On January 24, 1950, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the first stanza of the song Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata as the National Anthem.
  • The national anthem is performed in a formal manner for 52 seconds.
  • A condensed version of the first and last lines (which takes about 20 seconds to perform) is often performed on occasion.
  • It was first performed publicly on December 27, 1911, at the Indian National Congress's Calcutta (now Kolkata) Session.

  • The Indian Constituent Assembly met for the first time as a sovereign body on August 14, 1947, at midnight, to commemorate India's independence, and the session ended with a unanimous rendition of Jana Gana Mana.
  • While in Germany, Subhas Chandra Bose chose the song to be the national anthem of India.
  • The Hamburg Radio Symphony Orchestra performed Jana Gana Mana for the first time as the national anthem of an independent India on the occasion of the German-Indian Society's founding meeting on September 11, 1942, in the Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg.
