Correct Answer - Option 4 : 80

Given :

A number increased by = 22\(\frac{1}{2}\)%

Result = 98

Calculation :

Let the required number be = a

⇒ a + (45/2)/100 of a = 98

⇒ a + 45/(2 × 100) × a = 98

⇒ a + (9a/40) = 98

⇒ (40a + 9a)/40 = 98

⇒ 49a/40 = 98                (cross multiplication) then,

⇒ 49 a = 98 × 40

⇒ a = (98 × 40)/49

⇒ a = 80

∴ The number is 80
