Correct Answer - Option 3 : 46

Concept:

The slope of the tangent to the given curve y = f(x) at the point p is given by f’(x).

Calculation:

Given curve:

y = f(x) =  9x2 + 7x4

Differentiating with respect to x, we get

⇒ f'(x) = 18x + 28x3

Then, the slope of the tangent to the given curve at x = 1 is given by

f'(x)|x = 1 = 18 × 1 + 28 × 1 =  46
