In a group of three friends Gopal, Manav and Adi, the age of Gopal is 20% more than Adi and the ratio of ages of Gopal and Manav is 6 ∶ 7. What is the age of Manav, if the average age of the group is 30 years.

Correct Answer - Option 2 : 35 years

The Ratio of ages of Gopal and Manav is 6 ∶ 7

⇒ Let the age of Gopal and Manav be 6x and 7x respectively

Age of Gopal is 20% more than Adi

∴ Age of Adi = 6x × (100/120) = 5x

According to the question 

6x + 7x + 5x = 90

⇒ 18x = 90

⇒ x = 5

∴ The age of Manav = 7 × 5 = 35 years
