Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs.600

The average expenditure of the group after Gauri joined them is Rs.5000

∴ Total expenditure of the group = 5000 × 4 = 20,000

Amount spent be Gauri = Rs.3600

∴ Total expenditure of Saksham, Megha and Jay = 20000 – 3600 = 16400

The ratio of expenditure of Saksham, Megha and Jay = 25 ∶ 29 ∶ 28

⇒ Let there expenditure be 25x, 29x and 28x

∴ 25x + 29x + 28x = 16400

⇒ 82x = 16400

⇒ x = 200

∴ Difference between the amount spent by Saksham and Jay = (28 × 200)  – (25x × 200) = 3 × 200 = 600

∴ The difference between the amount spent by Saksham and Jay is Rs.600
