Correct Answer - Option 2 : A and C

Given:

MP = Rs. 35000

Cash discount = 10%

Diwali season’s discount = m%

Final selling price = Rs. 30870

Formula Used:

Discount% = (Discount /MP) × 100

SP = {(100 – D%)/100} × MP

Where D is discount, CP is cost price, SP is selling price and MP is maximum retail price.

Calculation:

SP after 10% discount = (90/100) × 35000

= 31500

SP after m% discount on 31500 = Final selling price

⇒ {(100 – m%)/100} × 31500 = 30870

⇒ 100 – m = 30870/315

⇒ 100 – m = 98

⇒ m = 2

⇒ m% = 2%

A. m < 10

2 < 10

⇒ A is correct

B. m > 5

2 < 5

⇒ B is not correct

C. m% of 35000 = 700

(2/100) × 35000 = 700

⇒ C is correct

D. 2m% of 3500 = 1400

(4/100) × 3500 = 140

⇒ D is not correct

A and C are correct.
