Correct Answer - Option 2 : 55

Concept:

The median is the middle most number of the series after arranging the numbers in the ascending order. For a series having the total number of elements n:

  • If n is odd, the median is \(\rm{\left(n+1\over2\right)}^{th}\) element.
  • If n is even, the median is average of \(\rm{\left(n\over2\right)}^{th}\) and \(\rm\left({n\over2}+1\right)^{th}\) elements.

Calculation:

Arranging the numbers in ascending order:

15, 23, 29, 39, 51, 59, 61, 67, 71, 88

Total elements are 10 so the median is an average of 5th and 6th element

Median = \(\rm\left(51+59\over2\right)\) = 55

 ∴ Median is 55.
