Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 4 : 8

Given

Edge of cube = 7 cm

Edge of new cube = (7/2) cm

Formula used

Volume of cube = (edge)3

Calculation

Let x is the cube of radius (7/2) cm formed from a cube of edge 7 cm

⇒ 7 × 7 × 7 = x × (7/2) × (7/2) × (7/2)

⇒ (7 × 7 × 7 × 2 × 2 × 2)/(7 × 7 × 7) = x

⇒ x = 8

∴ Number of cubes cut out from a cube of edge 7 cm is 8
