Correct Answer - Option 4 : 8

Given:

p2 + 4p - 21 = 0

Calculation:

p2 + 4p - 21 = 0

⇒ p2 + 7p – 3p - 21 = 0

⇒ p(p + 7) -3(p + 7) = 0

⇒ (p – 3)(p + 7) = 0

⇒ p = 3, -7

p + 5 = 3 + 5   (∵ p > 0)

∴ required answer is 8
