Correct Answer - Option 3 : Work done is zero

CONCEPT:

Isochoric process:

  • When a thermodynamic process undergoes a physical change in such a way that its volume remains constant, then the change is known as the isochoric process.

⇒ V = constant

EXPLANATION:

  • In an isochoric process, the volume of the system does not change, so there will be no displacement, and we know that when the displacement of the system is zero, the work done will also be zero.
  • So in an isochoric process whatever amount of heat is given or taken out from the system, the work done will be zero. Hence, option 3 is correct.
