Correct Answer - Option 1 : Red, Green, Black

The correct answer is option 1) i.e. Red, Green, Black

  • Electric supply or connections made in our home have three wires:
    1. Live wire: The live wire carries current to the appliances at a high voltage. It is generally in red colour.
    2. Neutral wire: The neutral wire is the wire that carries current back from the appliance. It is generally black or brown in colour.
    3. Earth wire: It carries no current generally. However, it is used to protect from an electric shock by providing a path for the faulty current to flow to the earth. It is generally green in colour or a mix of green and yellow.

  • The colour coding used for live, earth and neutral wire respectively is Red, Green, Black.
