Correct Answer - Option 2 : 6 units

Concept:

Parabola, x2 = 4ay, where a > 0, then

Length of latus rectum = 4a

Parabola, x2 = - 4ay, where a > 0, then

Length of latus rectum = 4a

Calculation:

Given parabolic equation , x2 = - 6y

On comparing with standard equation, a = \(\frac{3}{2}\)

We know that, length of latus rectum = 4a

Latus rectum = 4a

⇒ Latus rectum = 4× \(\frac{3}{2}\)

⇒ Latus rectum = 6 units.

The correct option is 2.
