Sagara Haram

  • Telangana March or Sagara Haram was organized on 30th September 2012.
  • The state government permitted the Telangana march called "Sagara Haaram" only at Necklace Road and the police allowed the protestors to enter the road from the Secunderabad side.
  • The closure of all other roads and the refusal of various organizations to take out smaller processions towards the venue of the march created a lot of anger among the people leading to clashes.
  • The protestors clashed with the police near the Telugu Talli statue before Tank Bund and also in front of the Prasad I-Max theatre as they were stopped by the police from moving forward. 
  • The Telangana Joint Action Committee, the main organizer of the program, alleged that after granting permission to the march, the government and the police were now trying to sabotage it by triggering violence.
Sadak Bandh
  • The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Telangana Joint Action Committee were determined to go ahead with their call for ‘Sadak bandh’ on Hyderabad–Kurnool National Highway.
  • The TRS and JAC had identified seven points of major convergence by their supporters along the highway to block traffic.
  • They were Shamshabad in Ranga Reddy district and Shadnagar, Jadcherla, Bhootpur, Addakula, Kothakota, and Alampur in Mahabubnagar.
  • The JAC chairman M. Kodandaram told reporters at Pebbair in Mahabubnagar that the bandh would be observed even if a lakh police personnel were deployed.

Million March

  • Million March was organized on Tank Bund.
  • On 10th March 2011The ‘Million March’ program, fashioned after the Egyptian protests, had become a prestigious issue for the agitators.
  • Lakhs of people staged a dharna in heavy rain on Necklace Road demanding a separate Telangana State.

Sansad Yatra

  • Sansad Yatra was organized ​on 27th April 2013.
  • The special train leaving for Delhi was named Telangana Express and TJAC leaders waved the flag marking the beginning of Samsad Yatra – Chalo Delhi.
  • The Telangana issue once again echoed in the national capital, with the two-day Sansad Yatra of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) commencing at Jantar Mantar in Delhi with a ‘Satyagraha Deeksha’
  • The main objective of the Sansad Yatra was to bring more pressure on the Congress-led UPA government to concede the demand for the Telangana state.
