Correct Answer - Option 4 : ÷, +, ×, +

1) ×, -, +, ×

Given equation: 40 * 2 * 5 = 5 * 4 * 5

After replacing the ‘*’ by the following set of signs, we get

40 × 2 - 5 = 5 + 4 × 5

⇒ 80 – 5 = 5 + 20

⇒ 75 ≠ 25

2) ÷, +, ×, -

Given equation: 40 * 2 * 5 = 5 * 4 * 5

After replacing the ‘*’ by the following set of signs, we get

40 ÷ 2 + 5 = 5 × 4 - 5

⇒ 20 + 5 = 20 – 5

⇒ 25 ≠ 15

3) ×, +, +, ×

Given equation: 40 * 2 * 5 = 5 * 4 * 5

After replacing the ‘*’ by the following set of signs, we get

40 × 2 + 5 = 5 + 4 × 5

⇒ 80 + 5 = 5 + 20

⇒ 85 ≠ 25

4) ÷, +, ×, +

Given equation: 40 * 2 * 5 = 5 * 4 * 5

After replacing the ‘*’ by the following set of signs, we get

40 ÷ 2 + 5 = 5 × 4 + 5

⇒ 20 + 5 = 20 + 5

⇒ 25 = 25

Hence, ‘÷, +, ×, +’ is the correct answer.
