Correct Answer - Option 3 : Law of Inertia

The Correct Answer is Law of Inertia.

  • The Law of inertia is also called Newton’s first law.
  • If a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force.
  • The law of inertia was first formulated by Galileo Galilei for horizontal motion on Earth and was later generalized by René Descartes.

  • The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant, it is said to be conserved over time. This law was first proposed and tested by Émilie du Châtelet.
  • Newton's second law of motion states that the rate of change of a body's momentum is equal to the net force acting on it. Momentum depends on the frame of reference, but in any inertial frame, it is a conserved quantity, meaning that if a closed system is not affected by external forces, its total linear momentum does not change.
