Correct Answer - Option 2 : 100 Watt

Concept:

  • Ohm’s law: The Current through the metallic element is directly proportional to the potential difference when the temperature remains constant
  • V = (I/R) [where v = potential difference, I = current, R = resistance].

  • Electric Power: It is the rate at which electrical energy is consumed in an electric circuit.
    • The SI unit of power is the watt (w) or Joule/sec.
  • Mathematically, Electric power (P) = Voltage(V) × current(I)

    Also, P = V × I  = I2R = V2/R

  • Electrical Power (P)  is the rate of consumption of electrical energy (E).

\(P = \frac{E}{t}\)

  • SI unit of power is Watt.

Calculation:

E = 2000 J

time t = 20 s

Power P = 2000 J / 20 s = 100 Wat
