Correct Answer - Option 4 : Power factor is unity

For an ideal resistor:

  • The value of resistance is non-zero.
  • Work done is non-zero
  • The heat produced is non-zero
  • Voltage drop is non-zero
  • Strictly follows the OHM’s law V = IR for any value of V and I
  • Should not introduce any phase difference i.e. power factor is unity.

In a purely Resistive circuit only resistance has presents which mean heat produced by the element is Non-zero and it is given by

H = I2R × t

I = current, R = resistance. t = time
