Correct Answer - Option 2 : 0

Given:

Distance between thief and policeman = 200 m

Speed of thief = 11 km/h

Speed of policeman = 12 km/h

Formula Used:

Speed = Distance/Time

Concept Used:

If two objects are moving in the same direction with speeds S1 and S2,

Their relative speed is S1 – S2

Calculation:

Relative speed = 12 – 11 = 1 km/h

Distance travelled in 1 hour = 1 km

Distance travelled in 60 minutes = 1000 m

⇒ Distance traveled in 12 minutes = 1000/60 × 12 = 200 m

∵ 200 – 200 = 0

∴ The policeman will catch the thief in 12 minutes.
